What We Stand For

Community: developing community amongst strangers is vital for a sense of belonging in this world. Community is vital for support, empathy, validation, belonging, shared wisdom, mentorship, role models, advocacy, social change, collaboration, and empowerment. It creates a nurturing environment where individuals can grow, thrive, and make a positive difference in their lives and the lives of others.

Re-Wilding: represents a transformative journey of reconnecting with their innate instincts, intuition, desires, and passions. It involves breaking free from societal expectations, cultural conditioning, and the limitations that may have hindered their self-expression and personal growth.

Nurture and Safety: women may have experiences, emotions, or perspectives that are often dismissed or invalidated in male-dominated spaces. women face unique challenges and experiences that can be better understood and empathized with by other women. A community of women provides a safe and supportive space where individuals can share their stories, concerns, and successes, knowing they will be met with understanding, compassion, and support.

Inclusivity: ensuring that women from diverse backgrounds, cultures, ethnicities, ages, abilities, and identities feel welcome and represented. It creates a space where women can come together, learn from one another, and celebrate their unique perspectives and experiences. Inclusivity fosters empathy and understanding among women by exposing them to different viewpoints and life journeys. It provides an opportunity to break down stereotypes, challenge biases, and build bridges of connection and solidarity.

Accessibility: ensuring that retreat experiences are available and inclusive for women of all abilities, enabling them to fully participate and benefit from the retreats. We create equal opportunities by offering semi and fully-funded scholarships, alongside payment plans for each and every attendee.

Who We Are

We are artists.

We are creators. We are business owners. We are believers in the resilience of the human spirit. We are human. We are terrified at times and fearless in others. We are driven, lost and confused. We are navigators. We are goal seekers.

We are storytellers.

We believe in the power of community and it’s ability to transform your life and your business; just as it has for ours. We believe in demonstrating extreme vulnerability in order to progress and grow. We believe in making mistakes and also knowing they do not define us. We believe in sharing knowledge and giving others a platform, in recognizing our privilege and the power of standing with others. We do not stand for spiritual bypassing or guru-level speak, we are learners of life alongside you. We believe you can live a life of authenticity, passion and empowerment. We will navigate these challenges together, by bringing others together to learn, absorb, and implement.

Why Ember and Solis

Seven years ago, we met while living in the same quaint little city in Charleston, South Carolina. We immediately connected, both feeling the intense longing for female friendship and true support. We collaborated on many projects, brainstormed, held one another’s hand, shifted one another’s perspectives. As our friendship grew, so did our friendship with other women close to us. We felt a major shift in our lives almost immediately— feeling more seen, heard and appreciated than ever before.

Five years ago, we made a pact to take one girl’s trip per year. It could be anywhere, doing anything. And most of the time, it was us backpacking, camping, or roadtripping down the coasts. We looked forward to this connection time more than most anything in our lives. It fueled our creativity, reduced stress, and reminded us how grateful we were to have one another. We knew we needed to bring others together in this way. We knew it had the power to reach other women, too.

Three years ago, just before the pandemic, we started Ember and Solis in our best friend’s living room. We had no idea what was to come: all the things we’d learn, the amazing people we’d meet, and the hurdles we’d have to jump through starting a travel business during a world crisis. But we knew this was important. We trusted our gut, and trusted one another. It led us here.

Ember and Solis was created on the foundation of female friendship: the innate longing to be cared for, seen, and supported by other women. This has changed the course of our lives, along with the people we’ve met along the way. We’re so happy to be here, with you.
